Suitcase ramps and travel ramp

A suitcase ramp is intended primarily for travel and it can be a useful access companion if you are journeying on business or on vacation.

Not surprisingly a suitcase ramp folds up into its composite sections and, once fully condensed, looks like a small suitcase or attaché case with a convenient carrying handle. This makes it both discrete and easy to handle.

This kind of ramp is a very clever yet simple solution to ramp portability and it comes in many different sizes and can fold from top to bottom, from left to right, or both.

More details and options

This kind of ramp comes in many different lengths up to a typical maximum of about 12 feet. The underside surface of the ramp (i.e. the part that is visible when folded up) is usually black which combines with the aluminium edges to produce a classic attaché case appearance.

Some manufacturers produce models that will detach the left hand panels from the right hand panels to produce what appears to be two seperate cases. This is more manageable for the larger ramp sizes.

Options can include differing top edge trims and locators to make access and secure fitting onto the tailgate of a vehicle safer and easier.

Small suitcase ramps can weigh as little as 10 pounds, but many can take a combined mobility vehicle and passenger weight of up to 500 pounds.

Because these ramps store efficiently in a comparatively restricted space, they pack very effectively on trains, aircraft and other vehicles. This make them perfect for holidays, travel and business use.
