Inflatable washbasin

An inflatable washbasin is a variation on the portable washbasin and, in addition to being easy to carry around and set up, it can also be deflated and folded away very quickly. This makes it easy to store.

Inflatable washbasins can be inflated using the mouth or a pump and it only takes a few seconds to a minute for them to become fully inflated or deflated. They are lightweight and easy to clean after use.

Most of these washbasins are designed for hair washing although they can be used for other purposes.

Advantages

In addition to being easy to carry, store and clean, the soft and spongy rim of the inflatable washbasin makes it very comfortable when in use. There are no hard surfaces, no edges, and the complete basin feels pliable and tactile.

Because these basins are primarily used for those who are confined to a bed, they have a recessed design that allows then neck to rest comfortably in the rim as the head lays back. This is ideal for hair washing.

The vinyl like material from which these washbasins are made is durable, antibacterial and additionally pleasant to touch. As such it makes the washing process comfortable and straightforward for both the patient and the carer.

To make emptying a simple process, many of these inflatable basins have a drainage hose with a one way valve. This removes the need to empty the washbasin and prevents spillage after use.

Washbasins of this type can be used multiple times and they can be a solution for either, those in need of short term rehabilitation, or those requiring prolonged care support.
