Fall-out matt
Falls and tumbles are an ever present hazard for anyone who is unstable on their feet, however measures can be taken to reduce the likelihood of injury as and when one of these falls occurs.
Bed fall out mat
Using a fall-out mat is a precautionary measure that can be taken to try and reduce or prevent injury in the event of someone falling or rolling out of a bed. This can happen (occasionally) during sleep, or when entering or leaving the bed.
The fall-out mat is normally a high density foam matt that has a protective covering (typically vinyl) and it is laid out adjacent to the side of a bed.
In the event that the person on the bed falls off, they will land on the padded and impact absorbing mat rather than on a hard and less forgiving floor surface. When this is the case injury will be reduced or prevented.
Fall out mats are normally made up of two or three separate sections and this means that they can be folded up and stored when not required. They will usually have a surface that is non slip (on both sides) and this also helps to reduce the occurrence of falls.
A vinyl (or similar) material finish makes the mats easy to clean or wipe down. They come in different colours and the thickness of the matting will vary between different suppliers.
